The holidays are the busiest time to travel. Here are ways to avoid getting overwhelmed and stressed out when traveling this holiday season:
Book Early
- Two windows of time are best – EARLY DEC or AFTER early January (ie: after Christmas)
- You also want to book at least six weeks in advance for best availability and to avoid price hikes and
Choose your travel days and booking days carefully
- Research shows that booking your trip on a SUNDAY saves money.
- In terms of days to fly out, midweek is always cheaper; flying on a Saturday/Sunday/Monday will always be more expensive.
- You also want to make sure your flight departs BEFORE NOON. Those flights are the least likely to be cancelled.
Where is everyone headed right now?
- The Caribbean is always popular. The smaller islands are getting a lot more attention with more direct flights (Which is key when it comes to getting your luggage there easily)
Get the airline app
- Any flight changes, (delays and cancellations) will come out on the app first
- If you haven’t left the house (or hotel yet) this saves you spending time in the airport
BYOF – Bring Your Own Food
- Line ups for restaurants and fast food will be long
- Not all food services are available due to lack of staff
- Plan as though food is not available
Don’t travel without insurance
- With so many cancellations, lost baggage and other trip delays, having insurance will make sure that you can get help and claim for anything that may disappear
