7 tips for booking summer vacations

We’re looking ahead to summer vacation already! Here are some tips on what you need to do now to prepare.

Plan ahead – The first thing that you need to know is where you would like
to book and your ideal time to travel in the summer. There are so many option out there – what type of vacation are you looking for? Active? Relaxing?

Book ahead and book packages – Booking ahead means saving money
and booking packages takes the guesswork out of your travel. For example, if you plan on traveling to Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, Florida, Hawaii, California or take a cruise this summer, Air Canada Vacations is offering a $200 per child savings AND you earn 2000 bonus Aeroplan points per member. PLUS, packages include 1 free checked bag per person and transfers so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

Connect with your Hotel -If you are staying at an all-inclusive, find out what gear they have on-site – this will help you plan your packing.

Pre-book your seats – If you pre-book your seats, you still may not be able to all sit together as a family, but you may be able to be in the same row which helps if you are traveling with infants or toddlers like I have.

Pre-book tours and excursions – If you want to specifically go on that boat tour, book it in advance and find out if tours can be rescheduled without paying penalties in case you have to cancel at the last minute.

Be flexible – Have a rough idea of what you want to do when you get there but understand that plans may change depending on the day that your children are having.

Plan extra time for everything – Mornings will be slower; meals will be slower and bathroom breaks will take longer – know what your children’s need are. Most importantly, have fun and happy travels!
