Hello all! Here is my Reggae Marathon 10k Update!
Thank you all for your support while I trained for the Reggae Marathon– 10k race in Negril, Jamaica. On December 5th I ran and completed my race in just over an hour. It was the most emotionally draining, physically demanding journey and I crossed that finish line with the most overwhelming feeling of fulfillment, pride and happiness.
My Jamaican grandfather passed away a few weeks ago and he was an advocate of perseverance and qualifying oneself for success…especially as a Preddie. I was lucky to spend a lot of time with him in his final days and it seemed serendipitous that shortly after his death, I was in Jamaica testing my physical limits in the place that he (and my father) call home. His constant motivation made me feel as though I could achieve anything and it was his smiling face that carried me over the finish line.
This medal was not only for me but for my Grandpa whose life continues to inspire and drive me through any challenge.
Thank you, Grandpa!
Stay tuned for my race video!!
In the meantime, check out Hop Scotch the Globe’s race video!
Nicely done, Natty P!!! Amazing job!!! Your grandfather would be so proud!!!
